Rakuten Symphony announced on the 12th that it has launched ‘Rakuten NEO,’ an AI-based IoT solution for automating space operations in unmanned businesses.

Rakuten NEO is equipped with machine learning algorithms and sensor technology, supporting the complete automation of rapidly growing unmanned businesses as well as the transition of conventional manned businesses to unmanned operations.

The solution provides support for site access management, lighting, temperature/humidity and other system controls, inventory checks, and emergency detection for unauthorized access or water leaks.

This allows for the simultaneous, real-time management of multiple spaces with minimal personnel. Users can select the necessary functions for their needs, and the SaaS-based offering ensures cost savings and efficient operations.

The service was developed in collaboration with the ‘ASA’ service from the Korean startup Alicorn. Currently, more than 10 major Korean companies, including GS and Shinhan Investment Corp., have adopted this solution, reportedly achieving up to 80% reductions in labor costs and improved operational efficiency.

Rakuten Symphony plans to launch Rakuten NEO starting in Japan, with the aim of expanding to the global market to target the AI-based IoT sector for unmanned business operations.

Seung-Hyun Son, CEO of Rakuten Symphony, stated, ‘Our goal is to alleviate the losses companies face due to employment issues and to provide socially beneficial services that align with Rakuten’s corporate philosophy. We hope that Rakuten NEO will ease the concerns of business owners struggling with employee management and costs.’
